In piedi in una strada di periferia della sua città natale Papendrecht in Olanda, l’artista cammina lentamente all’indietro finché non viene investito da un’auto. Un furgone blu della polizia si ferma. Ne escono cinque giovani ballerine che danzano il Concerto grosso per la notte di Natale di Arcangelo Corelli davanti al corpo dell’artista inerte a terra.
Guido van der Werve (1977, Papendrecht, Paesi Bassi, vive e lavora tra Amsterdam, Berlino e Hassi) si è formato alla Gerrit Rietveld Academie di Amsterdam e nel 2006 è stato residente alla Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten di Amsterdam. Nel 2008 ha partecipato all’International Studio and Curatorial Program di New York e nel 2011 è stato in residenza alla Kunstlerhaus Bethanien di Berlino.
Tra le mostre personali recenti: GRIMM Gallery, Amsterdam (2023); Eye Filmmuseum, Amsterdam (2022); SongEun Art Space, Seoul (2020); CONDO São Paulo (2019); FuturDome, Milano (2018).
