Lo schermo dell’arte Film Festival is pleased to announce the launch of Bulletin #1, a publication resulting from the international panel The Documentary in Contemporary Art Practice organised in 2010 in the context of the third edition of the Film Festival – with artists Libia Castro, Phil Collins and Jan Peter Hammer, art critic and curator Bettina Steinbrügge and Silvia Lucchesi, Director of Lo schermo dell’arte. The publication aim to contribute to the dialogue surrounding the use of documentary film in artists’ practice as a narrative tool for discussing, understanding and conveying the historical political and social facts and events to which artists bear witness.
During its presentation on June 6, 2012 at Archive Kabinett Berlin, were screened films by Libia Castro & Ólafur Ólafsson, Phil Collins, Jan Peter Hammer, Alfredo Jaar, Renzo Martens, Ulrich Seidl, Henri Storck & Joris Ivens, Johan Van der Keuken and Students of the Art Academy of Addis Abeba.
