Presentation of the book Bill Viola: le tecnologie dell’intangibile by Valentina Valentini (postmedia books, Milano, 2024). The author in conversation with Alessandra Cigala, professor Accademia di Belle Arti of Florence. The monograph retraces the 1990s, a decade that marks a profound turning point in Bill Viola’s artistic journey: with the advent of digital technologies, both her production methods and visual themes transform, indicating a shift toward a painterly iconosphere. This approach, enabled by the art historical framework, facilitates her entry into the world of visual arts, sublimating technological mediation.
