In 1988, artists Marina Abramovic and Ulay took different paths after living and working together for many years, and after accomplishing their last epic collaboration: walking the Great Wall of China, starting from opposite ends to meet in the center. After more than 30 years, they agreed to reunite in front of the camera for an honest and unfiltered conversation, not without self-criticism about their art, their lives and their legacy. The film offers a rare opportunity to watch and listen to Ulay shortly before his death in 2020. The two artists sit facing each other, commenting on the images of original documents, photos and videos, and recall some of the major performative actions of the time they lived together, from 1976 to 1988.
Kasper Bech Dyg is a documentarist. He interviewed several international artists, architects and photographers, including Renzo Piano, George Condo, and Ishiuchi Miyako.
