Lolo (Buenos Aires, 1977) & Sosaku (Tokyo, 1976) are two sound artists who live and work in Barcelona. Since 2004, they have collaborated to create installations featuring sound sculptures made from a combination of self-produced instruments, which include small rotating robots crafted from wood and metal, wires and pistons, tape and nails, pushing the automatism of art to new extremes. The film directed by artist Sergio Caballero explores their universe and works, blending fiction, documentary, and artist cinema. In the absence of dialogue, fictional sequences shot in the Spanish desert of Los Monegros intertwine with documentation of the artists’ installations and live performances, inviting the viewer to rely on the guidance of sound in this surreal narrative that revisits the western genre.
Sergio Caballero Lecha (Spain, 1966) is a multidisciplinary artist delved into electronic composition, plastic arts, conceptual art and in recent years in film direction. He is one of the three directors of the Sónar Advanced Music and Multimedia Art Festival and responsible for the controversial graphic image of it.
