An epistolary exchange between two characters, Gianni and Rossana, hyper-realistic digitally animated dolls, which innovatively explores the visual narrative of melodrama. Through an exchange of four letters each, Gianni tells Rossana about the dishes a chef friend is preparing for him, perhaps in anticipation of an important dinner: an appetizer, a first course, a meat-based main course, and finally an elaborate dessert. In her replies, while taking care of her sick mother by her bedside, Rossana informs Gianni of her mother’s worsening condition through four violent symptomatic manifestations: a skin rash, diarrhea, hematemesis, and finally, total dementia.
