Writer and director Marcie Begleiter has long been involved in research on Eva Hesse. The artist is the subject of the film Meditations: Eva Hesse, which won the Durfee Foundation Award (2010), and of the short film Eva Hesse: Walking the Edge, directed on commission for the Hamburger Kunsthalle for their retrospective of the artist in 2014. Her book From Word to Image: Storyboarding and the Filmmaking Process (2001) remains one of the most popular bestsellers in the world. She has written for many magazines and websites including “Filmmaker Magazine”, “Indiewire”, “Slate Indies” and “Writer’s Store”.
