Roberto Fassone lives and works between Florence and Polsesanne. His research focuses on creative structures, on the relationship between game and performance, on the difference between story and anecdote, on spontaneous gestures and on how to move surrealism over time. To the present day, August 31st 2020, his favourite artist is Shimabuku.
In recent years Fassone has exposed and performed his works at Italian and international institutions, among which: Quadriennale in Rome, Japan Media Arts Festival, Tokyo; MAMbo, Bologna; Fanta-MLN, Milan; OGR, Torino: MOCAK, Krakow; Centrale Fies, Dro; Carroll / Fletcher, London; AOYS (online), Zkm, Karlsruhe; Mart, Rovereto; Castello di Rivoli, Torino; Civitella Ranieri Foundation; Palazzo Strozzi, Florence. He recently won the Artists’ Film Italia Recovery Fund, organised and promoted by Lo schermo dell'arte. In 2019 he won the call IMAGONIRMIA, founding in Modena Ovest the "Museo del Tempo Perso"; he also is the co-founder of the research space Estuario. From 2012 he developed an intense activity of workshops dedicated to the implementation of literal and creative thought in collaboration with museums (Zkm, Karlsruhe; MA*GA, Gallarate), artistic spaces (Hangar Bicocca, Milan; OGR, Torino) and schools (MADE Program Accademia di Belle Arti Siracusa; ISD, Dusseldorf).
Ball Don't LieBall Don’t Lie is a video during which questions about life, the future and the universe are asked, and the ball, getting in or out of the basket, is in charge of answering these questions, turning into a curious contemporary oracle.
