The film traces the history of the Italian radical movement, especially in Florence and Turin, which revolutionized the concept of design and architecture in the 1960s and 1970s. Through interviews with its protagonists, including Archizoom Associates, Piero Gilardi, Studio 65, Lapo Binazzi, Superstudio, Ettore Sottsass, Ugo La Pietra, Gianni Pettena, the film reconstructs a season of bold creativity, artistic turbulence and critical utopia in which architecture and design were reinterpreted as instruments of social criticism in a new and original key that still influences artists who deal with industry.
The film details the history of some iconic masterpieces of the time: restaurants and nightclubs, such as the Piper Club in Turin and Altromondo in Rimini, designed by Pietro Derossi, and the private residence of Gianni Pettena on the island of Elba. Superdesign also combines archival materials, photographs and images taken from videos and films created by Superstudio, Ugo La Pietra, Gianni Pettena, and Archizoom.

Francesca Molteni
She graduated in Philosophy at the University of Milan, and did her post graduate studies in Film Production at New York University. From 1999 for RAI, Italian National TV channel. From 2002 she produces documentaries, television formats and institutional videos. In 2009 she founded the production company MUSE Factory of Projects.
